Thank you for supporting the "Mind Matters" Dinner Dance
held Thursday, November 3, 2011 Meadow Club in Port Jefferson

Michael Stoltz, LCSW, Executive Director and Dr. Davis Pollack, Founder and Board President of Clubhouse of Suffolk, were surrounded by colleagues, friends and family, and Clubhouse members, as each were honored at the Mental Health Association’s annual Dinner Dance, held at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson Station, NY. Michael Stoltz received Advocate of the Year Award and Dr. Pollack received a Lifetime Achievement Award. “Each individual has contributed to the mental health of Suffolk County communities in very significant ways. Their vision and belief in the importance of empowering persons with psychiatric disabilities, as well as in helping persons with psychiatric disabilities empower themselves, has helped shape organizations and programs throughout the mental health community”, said Colleen Merlo, Executive Director, of MHA in Suffolk. Kristie Golden, MHA Board Chair, reflected on the evening by saying, “The extraordinary work carried out by these two men during the past several decades clearly warrants this testimonial dinner and awards ceremony in their honor.” She went on to quote a modern day business author Jim Collins who said, “Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, as it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.” The Mental Health Association in Suffolk County, established in 1955 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to promoting mental wellness by means of support services, education and advocacy.
