Professional seminars and trainings are held several times each year to educate professionals working with children and adolescents who receive mental health services.
The goal of the program is ensure quality services for children and adolescents living with mental illness by helping to keep professionals up-to-date on current research and strategies for interventions.
We invite top speakers from around the country to participate in our full day workshops. Past topics have included: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reactive Attachment Disorder, The Impact of Trauma on Differential Diagnosis, Using Art to Treat and Assess Children, Bi-polar Disorder: An overview, Strengths based Group Work, and Working with Autism Spectrum Disorders, to name a few.
Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.) are offered to professionals attending the training workshops. These workshops help to keep Suffolk County professionals informed of the most current and effective practices.
